NATIONAL-PROJECT-AWARDS

Our inaugural National Project Awards took place last week and celebrated the project management industry across Ireland. The awards recognised individuals, projects, project teams and organisations that have shone within the project management discipline in Ireland.

All our entrants who attended the gala awards dinner at PwC, Dublin,  demonstrated what can be achieved within the project management sector, and we’ve outlined five ways you can be inspired by their submissions.

1.Diversity

Our finalists represented the very best within the project management sector, while also highlighting the vast range of work environments in which the discipline can be used. The sheer diversity of projects that entered the National Project Awards is a clear sign Ireland has embraced and is leading the way in project management.

2.Project managers are vital

Our finalists portrayed the broad and ever changing face of project management in today’s work environment. Each submission outlined the entrant’s ability to streamline processes, maximise resources and assure quality using project management skills and best practices.

3.Teamwork

The awards’ finalists demonstrated the ability to communicate with a wide range of team members and stakeholders. In many cases, project management was a vital skillset that facilitated collaboration and resulted in effective planning and management. This, in return, ensured effective and innovative ideation and productivity.

4.It’s not who you think

There’s often a misconception that project management is useful only for IT and tech corporates. Our Project Management for Social Good and Public Sector Project of the Year categories highlighted that PM can also be used to get success in industries such as tourism, charity and health.

5.We’re just getting started

By entering the awards, our entrants showed a commitment to promoting excellence in the project management industry in Ireland. They took the plunge and helped to set the bar for next year’s awards entrants. This ensures, that in the years to follow, those within the project management sector in Ireland will have the opportunity to receive recognition for their commitment to project management excellence.
