1st Speaker: Dave Giffin – Topic - Dell Limerick,Rebranding,Engagement
Dave is in his 21st Year with Dell in Limerick. Working across a wide variety of leader functions and roles, including in Supply Chain, Product Data, Services Logistics, Executive Briefing, Communications and Marketing, Dave’s current role is leading the DellEMC Limerick Campus programs effort – encompassing communications, events management, business development and external stakeholder liaison (government, Chambers, Universities, industry and agencies). In this role, Dave has been at the forefront of the recent year’s transformation across function and brand, ensuring the facility is delivering on its value proposition and is positioned well to grow and develop further.
Dave has a B.Eng. in Manufacturing from UL, and an MBA from Open University. His interests outside of Dell centre on arts & culture – particularly in the theatrical fabric of the city as an actor and director with many companies and groups. He also has a passion for Limerick – his home town – and has a keen interest in seeing it flourish and show its full potential.

2nd Speaker - John Carey, U-First Coaching & Development Topic - Personal Branding & Reputation Building
John is a graduate of the Marketing institute of Ireland and an accredited corporate coach with the European Coaching Institute. After several years operating in senior management roles, John established U-First coaching in 2002 to focus on delivering a wide-range of cross-industry professional development courses and services. These services provide owners and managers with the skills needed to realise their maximum potential, while being cognisant of the role environments can have on human performance.
Over the last 15 years, John’s influence on human performance has spanned sports and business. In the sports domain, John has delivered performance coaching to a number of elite athletes and teams, winning four World titles, six All- Ireland titles and 69 All-Star awards. While more recently in the business domain, John assisted an Irish medical devices start-up to develop their core offering, before being acquired by a $23 billion multinational 26 months after its initial launch.
3rd Speaker - Nigel Dugdale, topic - Branding, Limerick City of Culture
Nigel is a Research Analyst with RHH International. In a private capacity Nigel writes a regular column for the Limerick Leader as well as curating @limerickcitybiz and a number of other social media accounts. A passionate advocate for all things Limerick, Nigel has worked for over 7 years highlighting the positive aspects of Limerick life from an economic, social and cultural perspective. Nigel has worked as a Marketing Executive in a variety of contexts, in radio, written and online media over the years and is known in wide circles as a forward-thinker, collaborator and visionary. Nigel’s other interests relate to the arts and music and he has been a theatre practitioner for several years in the Mid-West and abroad.
