Agile for Non-Tech Teams

Agile for Non-Tech Teams

Just over twenty years ago the Agile Manefesto for software engineering was born. However its roots were not in software development but in manufacturing. The software engineers grasped the values and principles outlined in the manefesto and Agile has become a core method of development in many companies.

When coaching agile tech teams John is often asked “I work in Marketing or HR can agile help me?” These questions made me think why not !

Agile and Lean combine into a set of principles values and techniques which we know as agile. So how can these be applied to activities such as transformational change, post merger consolidations, organizational development or the creation of new marketing strategies.

The result is surprisingly simple. In this webinar Jon Ward will outline how he used Agile for NonTech teams to plan and control transformational activities in an international teleco. He will describe how techniques from John Kotter, and W. Edwards Demming were combined to create energy, momentum and change in multi-disciplined teams. In this interactive session Jon will present models tools and techniques from his book Agile Lineout – Agile for non-tech teams with practical examples and illustrations.

PMI Member Jon Ward lives in Walberswick, England, with his wife, Tatiana.

Jon is currently coaching lean-agile adoption in a six thousand employee division of a tier-one global bank. Previously, Jon was responsible for an agile transformation in an international telecoms firm’s four thousand eight hundred employee infrastructure division. When working with a software company as Director of Agile Transformation, Jon was able to reduce average delivery times by fifty per cent and effort by over forty per cent.
