The Ireland Chapter of PMI is part of the global professional association for project, programme, portfolio managers and PMO officers – The Project Management Institute.The Chapter is a very active and strongly growing professional project manager community in Ireland.
PMI membership is Global. It is administered centrally at the PMI website. PMI membership offers membership of the central organisation plus a choice of membership of local branches called "Chapters".
Joining the Ireland Chapter
Anyone can join. If you are interested in project management and in developing your career, then you should seriously consider joining the PMI. You do not need to hold any particular academic qualification or professional project manager certification.
Below we explain (a) How to Join both PMI and the Ireland Chapter and (b) How to add Ireland Chapter membership if you are already a PMI member
How to Join PMI and the Ireland Chapter
Apply online at the membership page of the PMI website. Click on "Join or Renew Today" button. Then chose the appropriate type of membership. Choose Browse Communities and select Chapters then the Ireland Chapter then "Join" and "Add to cart" to join. Then click on "Checkout" and follow the process to pay.
How to Add Ireland Chapter membership
If you're already a PMI member and have not yet joined the Ireland Chapter, it costs $30 for Members and $15 for Student members. The Ireland Chapter is self-funded. We use the $30 subscription to run our local events
To join, go to PMI to select Ireland Chapter membership, click Add to cart. You will be prompted to Login if necessary. Please then follow the instuctions to pay.
Ireland Chapter is automatically notified about new members
When you join the chapter, we're notified about this and our membership list is automatically updated. This normally happens once a day. If you have just joined, you may need to wait 24 hours before being able to register for chapter events.
Update:
The Ireland Chapter have been getting reports of Ireland Chapter members having issues when renewing their Chapter membership. Generally when you renew your PMI membership your Chapter membership renewal is automatically included, unless you opt out of this. What is happening now is that members are renewing their PMI membership and the Chapter membership is not being automatically included. If this happens you will be required to go back into your PMI account and renew your Chapter membership manually at this link. We have engaged with the PMI and they have updated us that they are aware of this issue and are working to resolve it.
