What is a PMI Student Club?
A PMI Student Club is a student-led community supported by the PMI Ireland Chapter. It gives students the chance to explore project management in practice, not only learning about it, but actively organizing, leading, collaborating, and contributing to real activities.
Through the Club, students can connect with the PMI Ireland network, take part in activities, learn from experienced professionals, and discover how project management skills are used across many sectors and career paths.
Why join?
Joining the PMI Student Club Ireland is a great opportunity to develop yourself professionally while still studying. As a member, you can:
- Gain practical project management experience
- Build leadership, communication, planning, and collaboration skills
- Learn from experienced project professionals
- Explore career opportunities in project management
- Expand your network with students, professionals, and PMI volunteers
- Take part in workshops, guest lectures, networking events, and student-led projects
- Become part of an international community of future project leaders
You do not need previous project management experience. Curiosity, enthusiasm, and a willingness to participate are enough.
The Club exists to bridge theory and practice. Most people don't encounter real project management until they're already in a job, learning it on the fly with no head start. We wanted students to get there sooner building skills, confidence, and a network while they're still studying, so there's a clear path from classroom to career.
Part of a global initiative
The PMI Student Club Ireland is part of a global PMI initiative that connects students, PMI chapters, universities, and professionals around the world.
The initiative already includes 59 chapters, 116 campuses, and more than 5,100 students worldwide. By joining the club in Ireland with over 220 student members, students become part of a growing international community focused on learning, leadership, and professional development.
What can you expect?
The first group of students will help shape the PMI Student Club Ireland together with PMI Ireland. Activities may include:
- Guest lectures and workshops
- Networking events with project professionals
- Career sessions and mentoring
- Company visits
- Project management challenges
- Collaboration with other student clubs worldwide
- Student-led initiatives and real-world projects
The goal is to create an active, welcoming, and student-driven community where students can learn by doing, build confidence, and discover the value of project management in practice.
