The purpose of this year’s conference is to explore the challenges that women face in the field of project management, to discuss ways in which we can promote gender equity across industry and the profession, and equip and mobilize women to shift the gender imbalance and make a lasting impact. Imagine a gender-equal world. A world free of gender bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that is fair and impartial and where gender differences are valued and celebrated. Together we can achieve gender equality. Collectively we can #EmbraceEquity.

Ireland Chapter PMI and Aspira combine to issue a Turkey-Syria Earthquake Appeal "Ireland Chapter PMI and Aspira combine to issue a Turkey-Syria Earthquake Appeal. A 7.8 magnitude earthquake has struck Turkey and Syria causing widespread damage and devastation. Buildings collapsed as families slept, leaving tens of thousands dead and injured. Children are injured, in shock and traumatised. They need urgent help. As human beings we want to reach out to help. As Project Management professionals we know the importance of making the right resources available at the right time. The Ireland Chapter of PMI and Aspira have come together to run a unique fund-raising initiative – and we need your help. We have planned a 3 hr Entrepreneurial Project Management training program, which has bene donated free of charge by Aspira (an ATP approved PM training provider) , and will be co-delivered by Aspira co-founder and Entrepreneur Pat Lucey, and Aspira Chief Commercial Officer Gillian Whelan. This program will be delivered virtually, so it is very easy to participate. To sign up, we are asking people to offer a contribution €50,€100,€200 or €500 – the proceeds collected will be donated to help those impacted by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria. The training program delivers 3.5 PDUs and explores some very interesting topics on how Project Managers can adopt some positive traits to become Entrepreneurial Project managers (EPMs) – one of the hottest trends in Project Management. Attendance at this special training session is open to everyone so you don’t need to be a member of PMI to attend.

Dr Joe Peppard & Terence O'Donell are returning to a topic that they have been researching on and off for the past 18 months. PMOs and their associated services have been positioned against a variety of frameworks and maturity models, Supply and Demand being two reference points that consistently surface. Based on the research of several award winning PMOs in Ireland , they have come up with a revised perspective on the topic, which they will share at this PMO Community of Practice event.

We are delighted to announce the forthcoming PMI Ireland Chapter – Sustainability CoP Kick off webinar on Thursday 30th March at 1pm. This is the first in a series of planned sessions within the PMI Sustainability Community of Practice (CoP). The primary purpose of the webinar is launching the CoP and setting out the global PMI position on environmental, social, governance (ESG). Incorporating sustainability into projects is becoming increasingly important for Project Management professionals across both the private and public sector. Having access to the latest sustainability trends, standards, techniques and tools will therefore be critical for Project Managers. During this webinar Katie Flood, Head of Sustainability Community of Practice, will mobilise the CoP bringing people together and will set out the plans for the CoP across the rest of the year. Katie will be jointly presenting with Laura Davision, Social Impact Manager with PMI Global and Jackie Fagan, President Ireland Chapter of PMI.
